Folklore Prints

Autumn/Winter collections are now coming into store which means lots of the trend inspiration I posted back in August of last year is making an appearance.  One of my favourite trends was the one titled Reflective for girls which showcased lots of folklore print and inspiration.

I went onto design into this trend heavily for a few different companies whose collections are now online.  Here is a glimpse of some I have found so far!

I know it's been a bit of time since my last Autumn/Winter shop report posts at the beginning of the month but I still have a few more to share.  Today I'm posting a camo trend where new and interesting camos are used in new and innovative ways.

Girls - Folklore Owl Trend - Spring/Summer 2014

This week I am sharing some more of my January shop report.  There is a huge folklore trend emerging that I have predicted in my Reflective trend for Autumn/Winter 2013.  Here are a few pieces that I am already spotting out and about which are starting to show a similar theme.

Boys - Dinosaur Trend - Autumn/Winter 2014

I have recently been doing an Autumn/Winter 2012 Shop Report to see what's in store this winter.  I have also been on the watch out to spot new and emerging trends in all the new Spring/Summer 2013 collections that are just starting to make an appearance in stores.

Over the past few months I have been snowed under with lots of new orders and Dinosaurs have been a really popular theme.  I can't even begin to count the amount of them I have drawn up recently!

While having a nose about i've noticed they are popular pretty much everywhere!  Here are some of my favourite finds for the younger boys market:

Autumn/Winter 2013/14 - Girls Trend - Reflective

Following on from yesterdays Boys Reflective trend for Autumn/Winter 2013 - Here is the toddler  girls version.

My Reflective trend looks at all things that influence our culture today.  It is heavily influenced by Eastern European cultures and traditions which are mixed with our own values and traditions to show a reflection of todays youth culture. 

Traditional Romanian and Russian prints are mixed with typography and used as pattern fills.  Skate prints feature a lot and are reflective of the trends values giving the popular look a fresh new feel.
